Dragonflies fascinate with their delicate wings and fast hunting flights over still waters and rivers. As important indicators of intact ecosystems, they are also highly endangered: habitat loss, water pollution and climate change are affecting many species. But how do you actually recognise large and small dragonflies, how do you tell the difference between males and females and which species is actually flying?

The new identification app ‘ID-Logics Dragonflies’ is now available free of charge for Android and Apple and allows users to track down all 81 dragonfly species found in Germany. Once installed, the app guides users step by step offline through key characteristics and provides extensive biological background information with exciting explanatory videos
