Visit of a Russian Student Group from Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting, Moscow
With respect to a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Exchange and Cooperation between the Institute for Science Education and the School of Geo-Ecology and Geography eight students and their university lecturers, Prof. Olga Khlebosolova and Ekaterina Savushkina, visited Hanover from 8th to 13th of June 2019.
Prof. Dr. Christiane Meyer and Stephanie Mittrach presented current research projects in Geography Education and organised a programme with several field trips for these days. Amongst others, the group visited urban gardens of Transition Town Hanover („Mitmachgarten im Park der Sinne“, „Küchengarten Linden“), the ecovillage Lebensgarten Steyerberg (near Nienburg) and the conventional farm in Ruthe from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover . Apart from getting insights into up-to-date initiatives in Hanover and its region, all participants had intercultural learning experiences. After visiting Hanover the group continued their travel to Cuxhaven, Hamburg and Berlin.
In 2020 a group of students of Geography Education of the Leibniz University Hanover will visit Moscow in return.
